First THE 2010 RACE is at IT’S ORIGINAL LOCATION AT TURNER CTR.
Practice day is Saturday Feb. 13th, 10Am to 2Pm. Free unlimited use. “Tailgater’s Welcomed”
We will be assigning numbers to you when you pre-register. You will provide your own numbers to go on both sides of your sled.
These numbers must be on a white background 10” by 10” and the numbers must
be red in color and 8” by 3 ½” each in size. These have to be on your sled before you go to
“Sled Tech”. We have reserved your number from last year so you may request that same
number when you pre-register only. Write the number on the entry form and circle it.
We really encourage you to pre-register, we don’t have the time to process a lot of registrations
In the morning of the race. RACE DAY ENTRY FEE IS $65.00 and you will barley have time to register, get a number, put it
on your sled and then go through “ Sled Tech”. We will be more thorough this year in “sled Tech”
So expect it to take more time.
If by some chance you can’t pre-register, then please arrive early and be ready to register at The Registration Trailer.
WE HAVE A CUT OFF TIME 9 O’clock SHARP IF YOU DON’T MAKE IT YOU WON’T BE ALLOWED TO RACE ,NO EXCEPTIONS!! .
All racers and sleds including 120’s,Powder Puff and Twin Cylinders need to check in at “sled Tech” to verify you have
paid and to make sure the sled is safe to race. After you have successfully passed Tech you will get a starting position.
If you do not have a number one will be issued, but it may be toward a week from race day.
Please use separate forms for other races, you can use the same number (120,powder puff and twin)
Don’t forget to sign the Waiver as well for all sleds signed up to race.
The rules are pretty clear and we have tried to be fair. As in other racing events the rules
are always pushed to the limit, please stay within them. We will be checking more in
“sled Tech” to keep this to a minimum. If you finish in the top five and are found in violation
of a rule after the race you will lose that position. Our goal is to have fun for the racers, fans
and the sport.
**At the end of the Main Event Race all sleds will exit the track and be detained in a sectioned off area just off track.
If the sled is called up for Tec inspection and is not in the sectioned off area it will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS!*
Added for our tenth year, TRR will be giving out additional prize money!!
Details will be revealed at the drivers meeting, race day.
We will be enforcing the tether switch rule, it must work before, during and after
the race so make sure it is secured. This is a safety rule and is very important. You
will be disqualified if it doesn’t work. NO EXCPTIONS.
April 2009 Turner Ridge Riders MSA Snowmobile Club New
Posted by meservier in MSA Club News, One Lunger 100 Race on March 16th, 2009
Hello Everyone. Happy April!
The days are longer, mud season is upon us, and the sun feels nice and warm on our face; which means the end of the 2009 snowmobile season for Turner, Maine.
Please be careful on lakes, ponds and rivers, no matter where you’re riding! We want to see you safe and riding again next year.
The One Lunger Race on February 21st was a huge success. We’d like to thank everyone who attended and all of the sponsors of the Race. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to have this great family event. Find them on our website and thank them by doing business with them. Results from the “A”, “B” & the “Twin” races are posted on our website blog. We have 2009 Race DVD’s available for sale along with club apparel. Buy your souvenirs now before they are all gone. Contact club President, Ed Morris by email at: president@turnerridgeriders.com to make arrangements.
The winner of the 1972 vintage Ski-doo 640 TNT raffled at the One Lunger Race was Scott Glenn from Wells Maine. Congratulations! We are now in the market for another vintage sled to raffle for next year. Know of one? Give us a shout-out. This year, a monetary gift from this event will be donated to Turner Rescue as well as The Pine Tree Camp of Maine. Donations and/or volunteering to any organization are worth while causes. Would you consider helping an organization?
Our annual Trailside Bonfire and Cookout was well attended with about 30 snowmobilers. The weather was nice even though we had a small rain shower. A great time was had by all.
Want to be in a local club that does weekly evening rides, has family events and helps organizations like the Pine Tree Camp? Give us a call and join. A new member for our club means new ideas, new enthusiasm, greater fellowship and greater service.
We want to thank all the landowners that make snowmobiling possible for the State of Maine.
We would especially like to thank the Turner landowners for making our trail system possible by having our annual Turner Landowner Supper at the BQMC Hall on Route 219 on April 5th at 5pm.
In closing, we’d like to thank our supporting business partners in the Turner Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club. Find them on the back of the MSA publication.
If you are still riding snowmobile trails somewhere, Please ride safe and ride responsibly.
