Yes the race is still on. As of Friday night we have over 90 sleds signed up for the main event , but only 40 sleds will make it to the money race. The qualifying heats should start up around 10am. The track conditions are a hard base with snow cover on it. The front stretch got quite a bit of sun this week, by the end of the main event the sleds will probably be in the mud. The back stretch should hold up very well.
Ware your rubber boots, the mud is about 2 inches deep in the late afternoon. The parking lot is bare field, we will have plenty of equipment to take care of the traffic leaving in the afternoon. Hope everyone has a good time, it should be a grate show! TRR President, Ed Morris…

Maybe an alternate date could be worked into the schedule for next year should this weather happen again? Burning engines up in 45 degrees and destroying suspensions in mud rather than postponing is foolish especially when they are calling for some real snow this coming week…..

Over two months of planning goes into getting this once a year event to where it is today. Alot of the club members take time off from work to help out. The race has always been the last saturday of school February vacation 9 out of the last 10 years. Most years are great but some are borderline. We had over 90 sleds signed up for the main event i woud not call that “FOOLISH”.
As far as an alternate date we don’t see that happening, the race would probaly get cancled untill the next year.

i think you gus did a great job on the track considering what you had to work with.my hats off to your club see you next year mud snow or water its still a blast i still raced my two sleds

im not sure of the exact webster definition of foolish is but i enterd 3 sleds rolled in the puddle and got sodimized by a stump i crashed my cat,still finished dead last glad its once a year but cant wait till next year..i think the really foolish actually take this mechanical masturbation for real racing it is foolish fun…
